Description
b. A tiny fragment that contains seven lines (in Greek) from the Gospel of John on the recto and an additional seven on the verso. Usually accepted as the earliest surviving fragment of the canonical New Testament texts. Dates have been suggested from 100-200 CE, and even into the later part of the 3rd century. Most likely made in Egypt, although traditionally believed to be Ephesus.
